AD-03 Effects of Aperture Time and Jitter in a Sampled Data
نویسنده
چکیده
The Nyquist sampling theorem states that band limited signals may be represented without error by sampled data. Among the effects which place additional restrictions on the signal, beyond those which are given by the Nyquist theorem, are aperture effects. Aperture effects such as aperture jitter, and aperture time, contribute to a signal degradation which is frequency dependent. In applications for high performance A/D converters, the aperture effects may be the dominant source of noise in the digitization process. The purpose of this paper is to define the terms relating to aperture effects, to develop a mathematical framework to represent these effects, and to predict the errors that will be introduced into the sampled signal as a result of aperture effects.

متن کاملAperture Jitter Effects in Software Radio GNSS Receivers
Increasingly, software radio techniques are being used in the implementation of communications receivers in general, and GNSS receivers in particular. In such a receiver, the received signal is sampled as close to the receive antenna as possible, and all subsequent processing uses digital signal processing (DSP) techniques. The sampling clock will suffer from phase noise instabilities, leading ...
متن کاملModeling of Jitter Characteristics for the Second Order Bang-Bang CDR
Bang-Bang clock and data recovery (BBCDR) circuits are hard nonlinear systems due to the nonlinearity introduced by the binary phase detector (BPD). The specification of the CDR frequency response is determined by jitter tolerance and jitter transfer. In this paper, jitter transfer and jitter tolerance of the second-order BBCDR are characterized by formulating the time domain waveforms. As a re...

Aperture Uncertainty One of the key concerns when performing IF sampling is that of aperture jitter or aperture uncertainty. The terms aperture jitter and aperture uncertainty are frequently interchanged in text. In this application, they have the same meaning. Aperture uncertainty is the sample-tosample variation in the encode process. Aperture uncertainty has three residual effects: the first...

The Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (DInSAR) technique is recognized as a potential remote sensing tool for detecting ground surface displacements with less than a centimetre accuracy.
